Crowdfund Portsmouth

CIL Transformation Fund

Portsmouth City Council and Crowdfunder have teamed up to support projects that are helping to improve the city and make it the great waterfront city to live, work and play.

Using the power of the crowd, we’ll be helping projects to find the funding and support they need to turn their ideas into a reality.

Portsmouth CIL Transformation Fund

You need a crowdfunding project to apply for funding. Start or continue adding your project and, if eligible, you'll be prompted to apply.

Criteria

Once an eligible project has raised 25% of their fundraising target from multiple pledges, if you meet the Council’s criteria and sign up to their terms and conditions, PortsmouthCity Council may pledge 50% of the target (up to a maximum of £5,000), subject to available funds within the ward the project is located within.

You will need a crowdfunding project to apply for funding. Start or continue adding your project and, if eligible, you'll be prompted to apply.

Projects must be located within Portsmouth and help address the demands that development places on the city. Each potential project must meet the fund criteria and sign the fund terms and conditions.

In addition to the above criteria, the fund will focus and give priority to projects that:
  • Are located within the city where development has taken place which has contributed to the fund
  • Help address the demands developments may place on the city
  • Endeavour to Reduce the impacts of development;
  • Play a key role in addressing/improving the need for local infrastructure;
  • Play a role in managing pressures on local services by assisting/empowering community cohesion;
  • Demonstrate, social or environmental benefits to the local community;
  • Complement Portsmouth City Council's five priorities, to make Portsmouth a place that is fairer for everyone: 'a city where the council works together with thriving communities to put people at the heart of everything we do'.
  • Help and encourage a neutral carbon footprint;
  • Support and encourage green infrastructure and vegetation coverage across the city.

Match funding is ward specific and as such, your project must be located and delivered within a specific ward of the city of Portsmouth (PO1-PO6).

A full 'detailed' breakdown of your project costs is required in your application, including the level of match funding looking to be secured. Please be aware that revenue expenditure such as (but not limited to) ongoing utility bills, rental costs and salaries are not eligible to be funded from the CIL Transformation Fund

The money pledged will be released only if the full fundraising target has been reached.
