At Woodland Vale we strive to look for new ways to offer stimulating and interesting activities that are suitable for people with varying stages of dementia, and this is where we need your help.
We have seen first-hand a remarkable interactive piece of technology in use that whilst looking fairly simplistic, is able to provide a unique interactive experience to engage people with dementia. We have trialled this within our home and have been delighted with the very positive response this has generated from some of the people that live here. It is a unique table with overhead projection that responds and changes according to the movement of the people using it. By touching the table with their hands, paintbrushes, wands, etc, they are able to transform the display. There are a variety of experiences that can be enjoyed ranging from more complex quizzes, identification type games, hand football, simple colour paintings, sweeping away leaves or opening flowers that bloom with the touch of a hand. The projection can also be directed on flooring for dancing and fitness games.
We hope that with your support you can make this dream a reality to make each day more enjoyable for the people we are lucky enough to work with.
